In aggregate they represent a group intelligence and if asked the right questions they can shed light on organizational performance and individual behavior related issues. If inclusive of employees from a cross section of organizations insights can be gained at multiple levels. Presented at SIOP 2010 by Jeffrey Saltzman, this presentation explores his Employee Confidence model and the findings of data collected over the last year.
Download PDF now

Do You Tweet?: Social Media is transforming the way in which organizations operate by changing the power dynamic, the communication channels and the types of information shared between managers, employees and customers. Presented at SIOP 2010 by Andrea Goldberg, Ph.D., this presentation explores the impact of social media platforms and on-line communities on business as well as political and non for profits organizations. Topics covered include the power of social media, implementing policy, and using social media to better understand employees and their impact on the customer experience. The presentation also explores the impact of social media on HR and raises research questions that should be addressed by organizational psychologists.
Download PDF now

Strategic Surveying in the Global Marketplace and the Role of Vitality Measures: As the global economy descended into recession in 2008, organizations struggled for survival. For many, short-term performance became the only focus. The long-term performance would not matter should an organization perish. Very few industries and very few corners of the planet were spared from financial threat. As the recession seemed to stabilize, many organizations realized at least in the abstract that the economic lull could be used to build the discipline of becoming more effective. This chapter from Going Global: Practical Applications and Recommendations for HR and OD Professionals in the Global Workplace, edited by Kyle Lundby, Ph.D., was co-authored by Jeffrey Saltzman and Scott Brooks, Ph.D., and explores the challenges of maintaining current performance while building future potential within an organization.
Download PDF now

Warning Indicators: Prevention is what early warning systems are all about. Early warning system that indicate an imminent event and allows people sufficient time to take prudent actions can enhance organizational performance and, in some cases, reduce the loss of life and/or property. Early warning indicators are greatly desired by people and by organizations to help reduce uncertainty and deal with the risk inherent in their respective environments. Prevention is only possible with accurate and timely early warning indicators. This article explores how early warning indicators can be developed and utilized in organizations.
Download PDF now

Program Evaluation: There have been many statements made in various textbooks and articles that are along the lines of "if you can t measure it, you can t manage it" or "you can t manage what you don t measure". It is an intrinsically appealing statement; one used to justify various management behaviors, and is quoted over and over ad nauseum. The only problem is that it is wrong. This article demonstrates that you can manage what you are not measuring, but poses and explores the question: when does measurement add appreciably to your ability to make better judgments?
Download PDF now

home | about us | team | experience | our model | services | technology | insights | blog | news | events | client login | terms | contact

©2010 by OrgVitality.
